Visit from Norway!

My dad and brother came to visit me! And here you can see us all on a Twins game :D Was really nice to see them again (too bad mom could not come...)

Here we are inside the dome, and watching the game. Was a lot of fun! The Twins played a really good game, and we won 11- 4 :D

Today, we had "senior skip day"! That means that all the seniors skipped a day at school, and we went to a park insteaad. We made hot dogs and hamburgers, and played softball! Was so much fun :D

Ok, so last weekend was PROM! (for those who don't know what that is, it is like the biggest dance of the year!) hehe It was a lot of fun! I went there with Michael Sukolski + Lam went with us. It was amazing!!! The juniors had decorated the gym, and it was so pretty, the theme of the dance was Las Vegas!!! Yeah! hehe After the grand march and the dance, we had a post prom. W e went bowling!!! was a lot of fun :D NEVER going to forget that night! so...

Festival of Nations

I went to something called "Festivals of Nations" with my geography class, in St. Paul. it was a lot of fun, and a lot of people!!! i met people from Norway, Denmark, Germany etc... was a lot of fun!

I went to something called Districts, with my youth group at church. It was in Rochester, and a lot of youth gathered for worship etc... It was... interesting ;) A lot of religion, but I survived through it! hehe, no, it was not bad, but I'm just not used to it. There was a speaker there, he was amazing! I could have listen to him all day long! hehe... We had a lot of fun on that trip ^^,

Ok, I'm so sorry that I haven't written anything in a while and I know you are probably getting tired of hearing this, but I have been so busy and I want to put out pictures of the stuff I do, but I haven't got pictures from others yet... But here is a quick summary of what has happend and what is coming in the future ;)
- ok, so I went on the senior class trip to Washington D.C and New York. Was AWESOME!!! I will defenetly put out some pictures from that!!!
- I got the price "Student of the quarter" in my art class :D Happy about that! It is a price you get if the teatcher think you have done a good job in her class.
- Been at some baseball games lately, some of my school team, but also went to a twins game in Minneapolis, that was so cool!!!
- this weekend, I am going to something called district. It is a gathering of a lot of christian youth, and they have concerts and a lot of other fun stuff, so I am going there with my youth group, that will be fun (I hope!!! hehe)
- prom is only two week away! crazy!!! hehe but that will be so much fun ^^, got my dress and everything (still have some stuff to fix though...)

so, think that is it, I'm of course looking forward to my dad and brother are comming to visit :D

I think this picture is really cool! hehe, I took it during the game. We had a projector, and showed it up on the wall.

As some of you might know... my school teams in basketball are really good. Especially the girls. They have won all the games that they have played this season, and now they are playing for a place in tha state finals!!! They have a game tomorrow, and that is the last game before the states finals, so everyone x your fingers and hope they will make it!!! (I'm really confident that they willl win;) Basketball is a really big thing at my school, so it is a lot of fun that they are doing such a good job this year! It makes my year totally awesome!!! hehe The boys are also doing a really good job, so x your fingers for them too!

Gone with the hair!

Just relax, it isn't me that lost all the hair! hehe, it was our principal and a couple of students. The reason for this was because our school collected money for cancer, and if we managed to gather a sertan amount of money, they would shave their heads!!! We managed to gather more than enough money, so off with the hair! hehe The whole school gathered in the gym one day, during last hour, and watched them shave it off... Everybody were laughing so much :D It came in the newspaper... You could also buy a pie, and through it in the face of people from the student council... I didn't by any, but it was a lot of fun to watch! hehe
You got to love school some days ;)

Happy (late) Valentine's day!!! The school was all decorated for valentine's (it was SO nice, we should decorate more at our schools too!) We could by "crush pop" a couple of days before, and then they would hand them out during reading time... People could the write messages and stick the to the pop... I got 2! hehe... one from Fritzi and one from Lam. (yes dad... not from any guys :P hehe... The some days later, I think it was the 23rd... the school had a Valentine's dance! I went, Fritzi, Lam, Ashlynn and some others were there too... not too many though, kind of dissepointing. but we had a lot of fun^^ danced the macarena and other funny dances :D

Ok, sorry that I haven't written here for a while, but I have had some trouble with uploading pictures on this blogg. But I guess I can write some without pictures... So, a WHILE ago. It was suoer bowl! That was a lot of fun! we met at church (yes... at church, I know it is a strange place to watch football, but... this is AMERICA;) There were a lot of people there, and A LOT of food! nice... hehe... Ok, so the teams that played were New York Giants and New England Patriots. I didn't really hope any of them would win, but since so many other people cheered for the Giants, I decided to cheer for them too... guess what?! THEY WON :D wohooo! hehe... It was a lot of fun, Alyssa, Ashlynn, Lam and Fritzi was there... I'll try to put some pictures here when it finally works, or else I guess you have to wait until I'm home again...

Weekend at Kirk's!

Last weekend, Andrew, Katie & I went to South Dacota to visit Kirk! It takes about 2 1/2 hours to drive... When we came there, we went to a college hockey game! It was a lot of fun (eventhough we lost :/ hehe) and I must admitt that I was a bit dissapointed that there wasn't any fighting... hehe. We were going to spend the night at Kyle's place, because Kirk's place is too cold, too crowded and too... wel, yeah, you get my point ;) When we came back from the game, we watched "Chuck & Larry", it was funny, but not great.

Saturday: today we slept in, then we wen't to a place called Apple Bee's for lunch. Ate ceasar salad :P Then we went back to Kyle's house and watched "3:10 to Yuma", it's a wester'n movie. It was good, but I don't like wester'n movies that much... Then later, A LOT of people came (because they had some sort of christian meeting), they talked and watched a movie... But me & Andrew was downstairs playing Guitar Hero (LOOOVE that game!) that was a lot of fun. After the "meeting", we went to Kirk's house to see "Saw 4"... stupid stupid movie :/ (ok, maybe not that stupid, but I was so scared!) I only saw some parts of it, because I was hiding behind a pillow, watchin "Chocolate" on my iPod :D hehe...

Sunday: today, we had to wake up early, because we had to go to church. We wen't to Kirk's church... I was SO tired (I almost fell asleep! shhh!) hehe After church we ate some food (SUBWAY) and then Andrew, Katie & I went back home...

Had a great weekend, it was nice to see Kirk and Kyle again + I met a lot of other nice people. College-people are funny ;P hehe
PS: sorry that I don't have any pictures. we said all the tme "remember to bring a camera", but we never did :/

I went to Channhasse Dinner Theatre! I went there with the theatre art students! (I got to go, because I'm helping out with make-up, during the play! It was so much fun. Well, we are going away for Thanksgiving, so Cindy wanted us to get done with the decoration before we left, so when we gwt home... The house will be ready for Christmas ^^,Just wanted to show you a funny Christmas decoration. Kirk got this from "grandma" in 1998. He used to play football :)

Hey!

Yes, that is my arm (after takin my last shot!) hehe... But that isn't what I want to tell you about, of course:P Today at school, was an awsome day! Maybe not awsome, but pretty good. We ha two people coming, that was going to teach us about RESPECT! So we spent the whole day in the gym, 9-12 grade. We went in groups and talked about things (respect), but we also played games, danced and sang. It was a lot of fun^^ There was even a dancing competition! And if I haven't told you that before... I like watching that! It is SO funny!!! Two guys was dancing:D

Like I said, we spent 7 hours in that gym today! Yeah you heard right! hehe... So we all got one bag of food(a sandwitch, apple, milk, cookie and some chips;) But one thing happened today that I thought was pretty awsome... in its own way... At the end of the day, we all sat on the floor, and there was a open cirkle in the middle with a microphone in the middle. And they told us that people could come up, take that microphone and talk about times when they didn't get respect or didn't gave respect... At first I didn't think anyone would do that (I mean, standing in the middle of the the whole school!) But after some time, people started to walk up and talked about things that had happened to them. Mostly people that was new to the school (like they were new in 9th grade etc...) But some people also thanked people for respecting them, and tanking teachers. Some people even started to cry! It was a strong moment...

I really liked this day, because I feel more like a part of the school. Now, I know a bit more about people... I feal like they shared something special with me (kind of... hard to explain!) But you get it;)

So, though I should tell you about how it's been here lately. (By the way, saying Hi from Phanter to Heidi:) Ok... Nothing special has really happened, the 1. quarter of the school year is over... hehe. School is going good, I really like my school. Soon the basketball season will begin!I'm looking forward to that, because then cheerleading will start too ;) I guess it will start to snow any day now! I'm actually looking forward to the snow this year, because my host brother, Andrew, has a snowmobile :D hehe AND I don't have to listen to my brother, trying to make me go skiing! :P (yeah, that's right Henrik!) hehe... I'm also looking forward to Thanksgiving, that will be so nice!

I stayed with Fritzi this weekend, because my family went to Kirk's (my host brother) homecomming game. It was a lot of fun. We talked a lot aboute the dance that was on Friday, watched a lot of movies and drove 4-wheelers!!! it was SO funny!!! Don't we look cool on the 4-wheeler? :P We also went to Jake's pizza for dinner (they call lunsh for dinner here, I know it is so strange! hehe).

Friday: School Spirit day!

At 7 AM the cheerleaders served breakfast to the football team. Since it was School spirit day today AND a friday, the cheerleaders weared their outfits. (we have to wear them each Friday). At the end of school, we had a Pep-fest for the whole school. It was a lot of fun. We played games, talked and cheered;)

Then at 7 PM, it was the footballgame!!! GO MUSTANGS xD We won of cource ;) 14 to 3. That was my first game to cheer on, it went fine. I even did a stunt! hehe.

After the game, I had to run and change clotes, because I had to dance... BUT I didn't have any time to remove my war paint, so as you can see on the picture, I looked a bit strange ;P But it was lot of fun!!! I danced all night long ;) This is me and my cheerleader coach, Cortney, she is so nice and funny!

Monday: Pep-fest!

At the end of the schoolday, the cheerleaders held a pep-fest for the school. It was a lot of fun! We played games, cheered talked and the school band played. At the pictures, you can see me and the other cheerleaders and our cute uniforms :) I was a bit nervous, but everything went fine...

Ok... Today I was a bit stressed! Tomorrow night is cronation (they say who becomes the homecomming king and queen). And since I'm a senior AND a exchange student, I have to get some sort of price or something... Well, the thing is that I have to dress up. Wear a nice dress, fix my hair and stuff like that. And I borrowed a dress from a friend... But, when I was trying it on today, I saw that it was kind of falling apart!!! I thinnk I might have ruined it (I'm SOOO SORRY Melody!!! :(

So now I didn't have a dress! + I didn't have any shoes either... But Katie and Andrew took me to the mall, I found this gorgious dress and really pretty shoes! So everything turned out ok... hehe...

This saturday, Ashlynns family held a party for me and Ashlynn. It was so nice of them! I got my own cake :D Here in the U.S. the call it "the golden birthday" when you become the number you have your birthday on... hm:/ That was harder to explain then I thought... Well, it was my golden birthday because I turned 17, and my birthday was on September 17th ;)

The guy on the picture to the right is Kole. He is really nice, he is in my Geography class and in my youthgroup.

By the way, my first football game that I am going to cheer at is next Friday, on the Homecomming game!!! We stopped to eat at "The Flying T". It was SO American!!! We got tin plates with potatoes, baked beans, chicken or beef, applesause and cake;) It was also a live band there (5 old people, playing country music:D) But is was a lot of fun, we even danced!!! hehe... We also went to see Mt. Rushmoore. It was amazing to see thoose huge heads in the mountain :D It was almost unbelivable! Oh, that girl in the picture with me is Fritzy!!! She's one of my good friends here. She is from Germany and she also goes to G.H.E.C (my school;)

On theese pictures, you can see "the Badlands". It was so cool! On the picture to the right, you can se me and Ploy. She is from Thailand and she goes to my school.

As you can see, it was really hot there, and the funny thing was that everyone thought that it would be could. So people had brought jackets and mittens instead of shorts! hehe (that includes me :)

So... Guess what? I went to the Black Hills! It was with EF, so I met a lot of other exchange students. It was a lot of fun ;) (one of the people I met was Miyu, she is from Japan!!!(you can see her on the picture) Heidi, you would have liked her, she was so funny. We talked about Japanees cartoons and I showed off my Japaneese skills ;P)

Hello!

Ok, guess what! I'm a cheerleader! I bet you didn't think that would happend;P Well, I'm not a real cheerleader yet, I have to answere some questions and have a physical examination... But I went to practice today, and tomorrow it is a football game, and I'm going to watch!!! I'm so looking forward to that!
At practice today, they liftet me up (allmost like on the picture), it was a bit scary but also fun. They also learned me some of their cheers, it is a lot of fun:)

Hey.

Ok, this happened a couple of days ago. But now I have some pictures too! We went to Minneapolis and watched a Twins game! It was a lot of fun :) I bought a T-shirt and ate cotton candy ;P The game lasted for about 3 hours, but it was exiting to watch... so the time flew by. They didn't win, actually, they didn't score ANY points! BUT it was a lot of fun ;)

Nothing spescial have happened latley... Well, I went to a "senior-party" yesterday, that as a lot of fun! got to know my fellow seniors a bit. We played "kick ball" (it is like baseball, but instead of hitting the ball, you kick it;), I learned how to play pool from a guy that has won MANY prizes (oh, by the way... I won!!!) we ate food and sang karaoke :D

First day at school!

Hey!

Today was my first day at school. I was kind of nervous when I was waitning for the buss, but felt better when the buss came and I saw one of my new friends. The buss was soo cool, it was yellow!!! hehe... When I arrived at the school, we went to put our things in our locker.

My first class was "study hall", we just got our places and talked...
Then I had "english 12", that was a lot of fun... the teatcher is so cool. And the people in my class are friendly and funny :)
Then I had "algebra II", it was ok, but I'm not that good in algebra, so I think it will be hard in the beginning... But after a while, I think it will get better.
Then I had "american history", and after that it was finally lunsh break! Lunsh was kind of cool, since I'm a senior, I get food before everybody else! hehe... After lunsh, I had "geography 9", "something I can't remember the name of" (hehe) and another "study hall".
Met many new people... I think I will like it at this school ;)

Yesterday, I went to my first football game. It was a lot of fun! My schools team is called mustangs, they are black and yellow. At first I didn't know all of the rules, but my friend Kole tought me the rules. So at the end of the game I understood most of it. They didn't win, but it was so close! 20-28...

It was so cool to watch! hehe...

Today we went to the school, so that I could register. The school looked nice and all of the teachers I met were very nice :) When we tried to make a scedual for me, they weren't sure what grade of english I should have. So they went and got the english teatcher... She asked if I wouldn't min writing someting to her, so that she could deside what grade I should be in... I was so nervous!!! But she told me that I wrote very well english, and that I could take english 12 :)
So... I'm a SENIOR!!! woohooo... hehe

Later today we went to JC Penny. They had a sale on almost everything! I bought some cool clothes;)

Even lather today I'm going to the youth group, that will be fun.

Hello!

I have just come home from the best camping trip ever! I had a great time =) We went to Okaboji, Iowa. It was so nice there! We brought a boat, jetski and tubes. I actually drove the jetski!!! It was a lot of fun (think I have found a new hobby ;) I also went tubing, it is like a big doughnut. You sit on it and you get dragged after the boat. Hehe...
I ate my first smore on this trip, it was so good!

I know I haven't put out any pictures, but I will... sometime :P

My new family is great. They have a very nice house, they like the same things as I do and I have a lot of fun with them. They live in Fairmont, that's not far frome Granada.

Yesterday, we went to the theater and saw the new movie, Bourne Ultimatum ( I think that was the name... hehe). That was a lot of fun. Ate a lot of pop corn (with butter and salt =) and drank pop. hehe...

Today we are going kamping! We are going to Okaboji (I think...) in Iowa. So I won't be writing until I come back again...

About the weather... it is raining, thundering and ligthning. But I guess it will get better...

Ok... I'm sorry that I haven't written anything latly, but so many things have happend and I haven't have any time to write.

Well, Michelle and Alan met me at the airpoort in Rochester. It was nice to finaly meet them, but they told me that they were moving, because Alan had got a new job! At first I thought that I was moving with them, but I was wrong... They told me that I was going to live with them until Monday, and then I would live with the Jensen family. That made me nervous :/

My time with the Monson family was great. I went on a trip with Alan and some other kids to an amusmentpark, that was a lot of fun, except that it was raining all the time!!! We slept in a church, and I ate a lot of unhealthy food ;)
I also went frees-bee (?) golfing, that was a lot of fun too... And I wasn't bad at it ;)

Ok... I will write more about this and how my time with the Jensen family has been, but now I have to go, because we are going out and eat pizza... for lunch!!! hehe...
